News hot off the press (it's nearly 1am BST)... Susan spotted a few dolphins alongside the boat in the dark :o) No species id... but first dolphins of the trip! Yay! Thanks Susan :o)
This is the blog for our 2 year research project to investigate predator (marine mammals & seabirds) & prey (fish) foraging behaviour in relation to tidal processes. We’re investigating certain areas with topographical anomalies such as underwater banks where fish tend to aggregate, resulting in lots of feeding marine mammals, seabirds, and of course fishermen! We’ve called these areas ‘critical marine habitats’ because they are likely to be critical to the foraging of multiple trophic levels.
